About Nanri Studio
LOCATED IN MAYNARD, MASSACHUSETTS, Nanri Studio is a progressive, insightful learning place to enjoy and become more awake through yoga, meditation and the creative arts. We draw and paint, read poetry and journal, as well as connect with physical practices such as yoga, pranayama, Qigong and walking meditation to create a unique, alchemical flow. Nanri teaches classes outdoors in nature and in a variety of educational centers in towns West of Boston as well as in her studio.Classes are for all levels of yoga and meditation students, no previous art experience is needed, only a desire to explore your emerging spiritual path and creativity.
NANRI TENNEY is an international artist and graphic designer who has lived and studied in Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean. She founded Nanri Studio in Maynard, MA in 2008. In addition to teaching at her studio, Nanri currently teaches outdoor summer movement and meditation classes at Walden Pond and at the Thoreau Farm, the birthplace of Henry David Thoreau, both in Concord, MA.
Nanri has been leading creative and spiritual classes for 17 years. She has taught Meditation & Movement at the Wright Tavern Center for Spiritual Renewal. She taught yoga in the Concord Adult Community Education programs and in her own studio in Concord, MA from 1999 to 2004. She has assisted at Kriya Yoga workshops at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, MA and has given classes at the Club Caribbean in Jamaica, WI.
Nanri was the founder and senior designer
of Concord Graphic Design in Concord,
MA, which served clients in the Greater
Boston area for 25 years. Nanri then
founded Atelier 10 aninternational Art &
Spirit Gallery in Maynard, MA which she
owned and directed for three years.
For the past 10 years she has been
practicing and teaching her favorite
vocations of mindful meditation, yoga,
expressive art, drawing, painting, and
graphic design at NANRI STUDIO.
Nanri has completed the 1st phase of
Mindfulness as Medicine at OMEGA
Institute and finished the Mindfulness
Based Stress Reduction program at UMass. She studied the Art and Craft of Play at Haystack Mountain School in Maine. Nanri holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and is certified in Sacred Art and Yoga through Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health.
As a member of a United Nations family she advocates for World Peace as a climate activist and an Art, Movement & Mindfulness teacher.
